Tim is a Chartered Accountant who has been with Mitchell Wilson since 1994. He has extensive experience dealing with SME’s and personal tax issues. He takes responsibility for managing a group of SME clients, as well as supervising a team of accountants.
Tim is responsible for HR issues within the firm, and has extensive knowledge of employment issues relating to SME’s.
Tim is a passionate supporter of the Collingwood Football Club and takes pride in being an armchair sports fan.
Tim is married to Belinda (Director of Domestic Duties). They have two young sons, Nathan and Daniel, and pet dog Misha.
Tim acts as treasurer of the crèche attended by Nathan and has undertaken the challenging task (for Tim) of coordinating the annual working bee.
Venessa traveled extensively during her childhood and lived in Papua New Guinea and Indonesia until she was seven.
Joining Mitchell Wilson in July 2000, Venessa has taken extended leave on two occasions to further her travels. Most memorable holidays have been Borneo, Canada and Peru where she climbed Machu Picchu. Venessa recently returned from a family holiday to Peru where she climbed Machu Picchu before spending some time in the Galapagos Islands
Venessa is a Chartered Accountant and also holds a RG146 qualification for financial planning. Like Tim, she has extensive experience dealing with SME’s and personal tax issues.
Married to Fahim, Venessa’s interests include watching movies and socialising with friends.
A member of Huntingdale Golf Club, Venessa is a self confessed “awful golf player”.
Born in Germany, Sonja was only three months old when her parents moved to Ethiopia in East Africa. Her primary education was in a private French school where French became her main language. In 1960, Sonja and her parents migrated to Australia.
Sonja has gained her accounting and taxation experience in several firms including Lipins Price, Hamblin Consulting Group and Londsdale Accounting Services.
In 2000, Sonja joined Mitchell Wilson and, since then, has gained an insightful knowledge of the complexities of superannuation. As Mitchell Wilson Superannuation Manager, Sonja’s expertise ensures that the firm’s clients are kept up to date with the changing superannuation environment.
Being an active member of the National Institute of Accountants and Taxation Institute of Australia, Sonja regularly attends seminars and training events, particularly those that relate to superannuation.
Sonja has completed a Diploma in Financial Planning, which will further enhance her expertise in the areas of investment and wealth creation.
Sonja has two adult sons and also two young grand-children all of whom she is very proud. Her interests include entertaining, classical and Latin music, theatre and gardening.
Sonja is a passionate supporter of the North Melbourne Football Club and was actively involved in the push for the club to remain in Melbourne.
Adam spent the majority of his childhood in a small town in Gippsland called Corinella before moving to Melbourne to pursue his career.
Adam has a bachelor degree in Engineering (Electrical) which he undertook at RMIT. However, he decided quite early on a career-change and completed a Masters in Professional Accounting.
Prior to joining Mitchell Wilson, Adam spent some time travelling around Europe which he says is one of the most significant experiences of his life.
Adam joined Mitchell Wilson in 2005 and since that time has completed studies for the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Australia programme and has now become a Chartered Accountant.
An avid fan of sports of virtually all varieties, Adam is especially passionate about the Hawthorn Football Club, of which he is a member. Adam also works occasional weekend shifts at the Melbourne Cricket Ground during Football and Cricket Season including the 2008 Grand final which Hawthorn won!
Originally from Adelaide, Sue has lived in Melbourne since 1980 and has been with the Practice since 1988.
Although Sue’s primary role is to support Doug Mitchell and the senior staff members in providing top-level service to clients, she is also the communication link between clients and the senior accounting team.
Sue’s ability to create and maintain good client relationships is paramount to the firm. Her background in sales and running her own business for several years means she has a good understanding of the issues facing small business.
Responsible for the internal administration for the firm, Sue also deals with client matters relating to the Australian Securities & Investments Commission.
Sue’s partner runs a family business which is involved in importing and manufacturing in China and Taiwan. Sue has two grown-up sons, one of whom works in the family business and the other in a major hardware chain.
Sue’s interests include reading, the occasional movie, eating out and catching up with friends and family. Definitely not a footy fan, but if she were, family pressure would require her to follow the Adelaide Crows.
Graduated from Monash University with a Bachelor of Commerce (Accounting and Finance), Christina is a Certified Practising Accountant who enjoys taking up the challenges in today’s complex accounting and taxation environment. She has worked in the industrial sector for a couple of years before commencing her career in the Public Practice in 2005.
Christina loves Melbourne’s seasonal weather, especially the cool and cold winter. In her spare time, she likes to play sports with friends and have fun with her nephews.
Craig Jackson comes from the mid north coast of New South Wales and has worked in retail management for twelve years before joining the accounting profession in 2002. Craig has practiced in regional Victoria specialising in the primary production and road freight transport industires before moving to Melbourne in 2004, when he joined a medium sized practice specialising in business & taxation issues relating to SME’s including medical and legal professions.
Craig joined Mitchell Wilson in August 2010 as Client Manager delivering business & taxation advice.
In his spare time Craig enjoys working on his small rural property in South Gippsland with his partner and Jack Russell, named Puku.
